Welcome! I created this blog in 2015 (if my memory serves right) to narrate my adventures, like many others. I want to explore all the wonders the world has to offer. And also, I love taking pictures of wildlife, even more than anything else probably, and especially birds. I long to share this passion as well! About the name 'A Flea Quest', my dad would call me 'flea' (it's common in France, don't think that he was being mean aha) and I reckon that it fits me well: a little flea hoping around the world at her own scale; A quest? Travelling is a way to open the mind, a quest towards the unknown and broadening of culture and knowledge. (I gotta admit...It also sounds epic!) Hope to hear from you! :)

Sunrise hike in Mount Batur: why you shouldn’t go there.

Sorry about the clickbait title, but I really want, no sorry, NEED you to read about the sunrise hike to Mount Batur before you consider hiking it yourself. The message I want to convey is the reason why I decided to write this article even before the one about our trip in Bali. Within the last few days, we’ve been noticing a lot of customs around here, like tying chooks, goats, dogs or cows to a tiny rope, whether in Bali or Philippines. How to get prepared for a trip in Bali

After a short trip between Brisbane and Sydney, as I previously told me, Aurélie and I are flying towards the most famous destination in South East Asia from Australia: Bali. After spending three weeks there, I can say without a doubt that I understand why it’s so famous. For this adventure, I’m gonna divide in 3 articles, one about how to get prepared (according to the title, this one) and two for the trip. It’s not exactly what I initially planned but after what we lived in Mount Batur, I decided that it needed its own article. Spoiler alert: DO NOT GO THERE. Here, as I tried to introduce, I will give some tips and…

    Red Devil on Fire

I wrote this article a long time ago, and it was a pure translation of my article in French. It was also my first article written in English and I really didn’t like it. First of all, it was way too short for everything we did there, and while I was explaining in length the job, I barely mentioned the road trip Dante and I did, yet, it is the main thing I remember now. So, what’s that about the Red Devil on Fire? Hell? Hell no! I present to you: cherry-picking (red, got it? sounds pastoral, doesn’t it?) in Tasmania (the devil we did not see) during the bush-fires season. Cherry-picking experience in New…
